Simplify Your Life

Life is your portrait, you are the painter. When you simplify your life, you'll find out you get more result by investing little amount of time with tenacity in just one or two things than you get investing and dissipating so much of your time and life into many undefined things.
In a sea of activities one can easily loose grip of the essential things that makes life beautiful. And the Irony is; all the things that makes our lives congested are there as a result of our own efforts to make life better for ourselves.
In an attempt to make life comfortable for ourselves, we complicate it. for the most part, what's more retarding is that we stay in that circle for so long without help until we reach a brick wall. How so often we look for help and look very far away when we should look within and look around.

Simplifying your life in a general sense simply means you slow things down a little and carefully become choosy about your options so you can automatically empower yourself to create the change you crave for. It is a silent fact in life that most times, its not the big things that makes all the difference but the small once.
In a more deeper sense, simplifying your life can mean shutting down totally to re-borne or re-invent yourself. This in other words can mean to totally let go of something you've held very dearly for so long. It is the most effective way of finding true freedom.
Simplifying your life should be unique to you, as what works for me might not work for you even if its a general principle.

Indicators of the Need to Simplify your life

1. Lethargy: There is an employee cliche in America called 'quite and stay', its a situation where employee's only work to pay their bills as their heart is no longer with the organisation they work for. Its actually a state on mind that can't be communicated to management, but it's heard in passing in private conversations. Talk about seeing the fruit without the tree! This problem is not noticed easily as employee's will still come to work and do their bit.
when people begin to throw tantrum in the air, and showing all kinds of attitude at work, that's not the real problem, the real problem is inside. Most times, it takes very smart HR to quickly Identify problems like these before it begins to affect company's turn-over.

when you begin to loose enthusiasm and passion for work, don't quite and stay, fix the problem. if you can't fix it, manage it. And the best management style is for you to format you own heart-disc, i don't mean your computer, I mean your own personal heart-disc. Troubleshoot your life, unlearn and relearn somethings, adjust and adopt, and then, simplify your life.

2. Lack of Productivity : A thorough and honest Intermittent self evaluate saves stress and prevents possible major losses. So many things can lead to lack of productivity, especially, multitasking.
In the early days of Henry Ford as an employee, he'd work during the day so he could provide for his family and pay bills, but work at night in his garage on his automobile. In total contrast, these days, employees work all day for an employer while they sleep at night on their dreams. There is no greater self injustice than this.
In the part of the world where I live and work, work schedule is very exhausting. People go to work for others and by the time they are back, they are too tired to work on their dreams and goals. Only the truly determined go the extra mile.
A good doss of passion is what makes you stay up at night to chase your vision while others are asleep.
In the end, its always worth the sacrifice.

3. Consistent Procrastination: When you always create an excuse for something you are often putting off, you will never run out off raw materials for creating excuses as they are often readily around. Someone defined excuses as 'beautiful nails with which a house of destruction is built'. (makes some sense i guess?)
Too much procrastination has left the empire of many people in their minds, great business plans only on paper, and very viable Ideas un-attempted.
I sometimes refer to procrastination as the Install-mental death of great things, especially when you procrastinate on things that are within your strength zone simply because of mood swing.

When I was a lot younger, I wanted to do everything, become everything, and become everyone. I was so many personalities all in one. Now I know better. The older I get, the more focused I want to be, and cut down on many unimportant things. That's not a bad idea I guess.
